“I am a believer in the arts and crafts movement principles – if I am to use something, or wear something, I want it to be functional and beautiful and well made.” – Catherine Knutsson
Modeled by the charming Leah Churchley, who came on board the team this year as our Digital and Educational Media Assistant, Corduroy Road hat and scarf set is both beautiful AND functional. The set, included in our Holidays with SweetGeorgia, Vol. 3 collection is knit up in Mohair SIlk DK and features a close fit and reversible stitch. Inspired by the Cape Scott Trail of corduroy roads on Vancouver Island, fun twisted stitches and purls traverse the fabric for a perfect set that’s also great to gift.
Catherine was so lovely to include instructions for two types of cast-ons (and both are on our video plan list for next year): The Alternate Cable CO and the Tillybuddy CO. Two new skills to add to your tool box? I think so! The projects themselves are wonderfully meditative in patterning and we, of course, include both the written and charted instructions.
