June 2015 Club // Panda and Panda Sock
Lost in a forest of grey-green pine needles, lichen-encrusted trails, and clearwater creeks… Despite living in the achingly beautiful, natural landscape that is the Pacific Northwest, I can count on my fingers the number of times I’ve had the opportunity to go camping. My husband and I, we are not experienced campers. And yet, somehow, I felt confident that we should head out into the wilderness with our 19-month old child along with four other 19-month old children for a collective five-family camping trip.
Mountain Man, oh, how I wish I had your experience and knowledge of what to eat in the woods, besides hotdogs. Mountain Man, how I wish I had your wisdom of how to mellow an excited toddler on his first night of camping and actually get him more than four hours of sleep.
Ignoring the sleep fiasco, spending a mere 48 hours cut off from the world (my iPhone battery died in the woods) and having the time to enjoy and laugh with my family and friends under a sky full of stars was exquisite.
