Take your spinning to the next level at the SweetGeorgia Studio!
This Spring, we are offering spinning classes for all levels for 6 weeks, starting on Monday, May 7 to June 18, 2018 – no class on May 21.
This class series is designed to meet each student where they are in their skills level. If you’ve never spun before, Katrina will teach you how! If you’re a more advanced spinner, Katrina will custom design some exercises to expand your skills and improve your technique. We will be covering the different drafting methods in the first class and expanding from there.
- Classes take place from 7 pm to 9 pm on Monday evenings
- Class fees includes materials
- A limited number of spinning wheels will be available to rent at no additional cost (deposit required). First come, first served.
- Optional materials list for students: pencil, paper, camera. If you have a spinning wheel, please bring it. Also, if you have a lazy kate, 3-4 empty bobbins, and a niddy noddy.
Classes are held at the SweetGeorgia Yarns Studio at 110-408 East Kent Avenue South near Main Street and Marine Drive in Vancouver. Access to transit is very limited. Plenty of free parking is available.
Katrina, a professional photographer by trade, has had an obsession with fibre all her life. She learned to knit and crochet as a child, but her passion was truly ignited when she learned to spin in 2014. She loves the thought that every individual who looks at a braid of fibre or runs their fingers over a skein of yarn will create their own unique functional piece of art. Something to be enjoyed for years to come. You can find her on Instagram as @craftyjaks or on Ravelry as CraftyJAKs.
