I was just listening to an interview with Jay Papasan this afternoon and something he said struck me. That when we multitask, our body produces both cortisol (which stresses us out) as well as dopamine (which makes us feel good). So working on more than one thing at a time can be almost physiologically addictive… but also wreak havoc on your system and your ability to actually do things suffers…… and then I came home and took this photo.
It’s just a portion of the things I’m knitting on right now. I generally don’t enjoy being in this mode — working on seventy different projects at one time — but I can say for real, that I have an addict’s habit of starting things. I always say, I’ll prune and minimize and streamline… later… but perhaps sooner is better than later. In the meantime, here’s my week in pics:

Russell meets Button the Cavalier (my brother and sister-in-law’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) for the first time. Russell smiled, laughed, and immediately tried to kiss Button which freaked the dog out quite a bit.

That’s carrots, celery, apple, mango, and hemp seed in a blender with coconut water. The husband actually enjoyed this… or at least he said so.

Celebrating birthdays with my family with cake from Faubourg. We did not have any of their incredible looking macarons, unfortunately.

Happy birthday Ashley! with vegan chocolate cupcakes with grape-flavoured icing… we ALSO celebrated Teresa’s birthday this week but I didn’t get any photos on my phone.
And here’s one last one.
Hubert has been dodging me and my camera ever since he started working here in the fall of 2012… and finally I got a chance to get everybody together for an updated photo as well as individual portraits of each of us. Unfortunately we’re missing Channa since she’s on mat leave with her new baby. But we wish her well!
Happy Friday and see you in a few.
