Painted Woolly Toppers by Woolly Wormhead

24 June, 2015

The amazing Woolly Wormhead has come out with a new 10-pattern book called Painted Woolly Toppers and, boy, do we love it! In it, you’ll find stunning hat designs that were created with hand-dyed, painted, and variegated yarns in mind. SweetGeorgia Yarns definitely fits in that mold and we are honored that our yarn, Tough Love Sock, was included in the unique Vortice hat.

In Vortice, the colours swirl around towards the crown in a biased and sideways construction (we told you it was unique). The finish looks almost like a spiral that draws you in to the beautiful travel of the hues. You’ll need to understand provisional cast-on, short rows, and Kitchener stitch to knit the hat, but with the illustrated tutorials, 4 sizes, and a choice of finishing, you’re automatically set up for success.

The rest of the hats in the book are just stunning with distinctive shapes and techniques. You will not have any trouble making the best use of your hand-dyed stash in these small, instant-gratification projects. Woolly has truly outdone herself!

You can visit www.woollywormhead.com for more information, but in the meantime, how would you like the chance to win your own digital copy of Painted Woolly Toppers? Leave a comment below and tell us which hat you’d like to make with one of our colourways and you’ll automatically be entered in the random drawing. One winner will receive the book as a Ravelry gift (so it’s in your Ravelry library forever!) from Woolly herself. You have until July 3rd to get your comment in!
