I love the classic cardigan, but I want this to have a bit of a twist. Instead of colours, I made stripes with an easy lace stitch.
Heater Zoppetti’s Whisper is a gorgeous use of Superwash DK and we can envision it in so many colourways! This delightfully feminine cardigan unites simple lace and beautiful shaping just perfectly. Worked in pieces from the bottom up, the results are fitted, classic, and wonderfully casual. This go-to cardigan will become a staple in your wardrobe this fall!
Heather’s tip for knitting Whisper
The important thing to remember when working with the lace stripe sections is to keep your yarnover/decrease balanced during shaping.
Behind the Brilliance: Heather’s Five Faves
Favourite way to spend Saturday morning: My perfect Saturday morning is quiet time with a cup of coffee, my planner, and my journal.
Favourite knitting tool or fiber: My favourite fiber is silk. I love silk so much. I love the sheen, the feel, the warmth…everything except that weird smell when it gets wet. I guess even good things need a negative to balance the universe. My favourite knitting tool are needles. I’m a needle collector. I enjoy trying different materials (e.g. wood, bamboo, metal, carbon) and different types (e.g. straight, circular, dpn).
Favourite guilty pleasure: I dunno!
Favourite colour: I’m pretty sure my favourite colour is green. Although, this changes from day to day, I usually come back to green.
Favourite thing to wear in the fall: Knee socks! Seriously, I love wearing colourful socks. I don’t have any hand knit knee-highs …yet, but I’m working on it!
