I think there is something utterly satisfying and logical in how this lace develops. And it looks beautifully complex, but isn’t that difficult.

This is the lace that people dream of: looking amazingly complex, yet surprisingly simple to work. Lovely, wavy lines enhance the effect of the spring-inspired leaves in Finsbury while the lightweight feel is all the airier when knit in our brand new Bulletproof Sock. The results are deliciously sophisticated, casual, and mesmerizing. You can purchase Finsbury via our Website or Ravelry.

NATALIA’S TIP FOR KNITTING FINSBURY

Weigh your yarn before casting on and after making half of the repeat (34 rows), then multiply the difference by 10 and compare to initial weight – this way you’ll know if you have enough yarn to complete the scarf. If it looks like you may run out, try smaller needles to alter your gauge and yarn usage.

BEHIND THE BRILLIANCE: NATALIA’S FIVE FAVES

Favorite way to spend a Saturday afternoon: With my knitting, of course. I might also read or watch TV along the way, just can’t have my hands empty.

Favorite knitting fiber: Alpaca! I adore it in any weight from lace to aran, pure and blended, natural and dyed. It may look coarse, but then turns out surprisingly soft. And it’s really, really warm.

Favorite guilty pleasure: Video games. When I get really old, I’ll be like that cartoon granny playing knitting video games.

Favorite spring activity: Frankly, during the past few years, spring has been so short over here, with barely a week between winter and summer. I feel as if I haven’t the time to enjoy the change of seasons anymore. But I still love when the first leaves come out and the trees have that thin green haze around them.

Favorite thing to wear in the spring: Oh, it’s priceless when we finally can take off those heavy winter boots at last and sport our uber-killing new pumps for the first time!
