Hi Everyone! Since this is my first guest post on Felicia’s blog, I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Katrina, a professional photographer and mom to two amazing little girls. I spend a lot of my free time creating, having learned to knit, crochet and sew as a young child. These activities have always played a roll in my life, but it wasn’t until I learned to spin 2 years ago that I really started to become obsessed with fibre and luxury yarns. Shortly after I learned to spin, I discovered SweetGeorgia and absolutely fell in love with their colours and I have been a fibre club member ever since. I was chatting with Rachel one night about her spinning posts, and she mentioned Felicia would love to have someone knit the club each month as well, so here we are. Each month, I’ll be knitting up the club and sharing the process with you. Some months, I’ll be going with Felicia’s recommendations, but other months I’ll be letting the yarn be my guide!
This month’s club, Eden, was dyed on Silk Crush and the best way to describe this yarn is scrumptious! It was an absolute dream to knit and I have to say that I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colours! I was very excited to get started.

Don’t you just want to squish this??

When I read Felicia’s story, I could completely relate to the hopes, dreams and worries for her daughter, as I had similar thoughts when each of my girls were born. I really wanted to find something that would highlight the beautiful colours of the yarn, as well as the drape and sheen of the silk. I immediately started sampling. This is one of many, many stitch patterns I tried and frogged before I found something that I felt worked well.

I designed this shawl and knit it on size US6 4.00mm needles. I blocked it aggressively to really open up the pattern. I love the movement that was created by the pooling of the different colours. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. (Use coupon code SGYB1 and the pattern is free. Valid until May 7, 2016)

It sits nicely around my shoulders, but is very versatile and can be worn lots of different ways!
