This month, I moved cross-country to be closer to my family. To say it was insane feels like an understatement. Overnight, it seems, I had to become a master at fitting packing and travel between the demands of daily work demands, kids on summer break, house-selling, house-buying, my husband’s work transitions, and utility arrangements. Where could knitting possibly fit in?
I quickly discovered, though, that the real question is: where would I be without my knitting? This month’s Colourful, Playful Stitches experiment was something simple, yet wholly luxurious in its comforting rhythm. It was a play that I could sink into, forgetting the cares of the outside world and losing myself in the repeating dance of slipped stitches. The yarn, CashLuxe Spark, with its glorious shimmer, was an unconscious reminder to look for the silver lining … that glittering light hovering at the dark fringes, reminding you to keep on keeping on.
I immersed myself in these swatches, marveling at how the yarn floating across the front, motivating me to ride the waves in reality. Keep floating with the waves … just keep swimming … just keep knitting.
Ok, yes, I just saw Finding Dory this month! Haha!
The colours I chose, Mint Julep and Canary Island, are rich in tonal depth. Whether you knit or crochet a garment or accessory, the hues are bold, confidence-raising, and just … well … utterly fantastic, looking amazing in nearly any stitch you might fancy. They might be my favourite colours this year!
CashLuxe Spark has a smooth twist, flowing through the fingers in a mesmerizing way. Soft hint of shimmer, luscious hints of cashmere, and a strong 3-ply structure promise a delectable fingering-weight yarn that makes every project look amazing.
