All around my little county here in Tennessee, there can be heard a single cry from moms everywhere, echoing against the early morning sky …
Freedom.
FREEEEDDDDOOOOOMMMMMMM!
Ok, perhaps it is just me, but today, my kids are back in school and I see hours upon hours of my creative working life back in my own grubby hands to do with as I please. Until 2:45pm anyway, when the kids get out of school. After a super busy July of travel, vacation that wasn’t really a vacation, holiday BBQs, and back-to-school-supply shopping, I’m itching to get down to business …
… like getting a LOT of computer time — I’m knee-deep in our Fall with SweetGeorgia, Vol. 3 collection, with finalizing patterns and style options for our upcoming photoshoot, as well as plotting out patterns and colours for our Spring with SweetGeorgia, Vol. 3 collection (see how far in advance we have to work?) …
… putting these scrumptious colours together into a sweet little surprise for you all (did someone say “Mystery Knitalong?” Squeal!) …
… and brainstorming new projects, an editorial calendar for 2018-2019, another possible Christmas pattern, new Crochet patterns and designers, planning new video tutorials, and more. The upcoming fall season promises to be a busy one, but first …
First, I’m going to sit back, savor this cup of coffee in my quiet, kid-free house, and contemplate the meaning of life now that my brain can hear itself think. Then, I’m going to wander around the house and glare menacing at the piles of clothes or toys the children left behind. From there, I’ll make another cup of coffee, sit at the computer, get to work … and then, perhaps, just before noon, I’ll feel a smidge of sadness that the house is empty.
Let those freedom school bells ring.
