Rivers Cowl in Knitscene, Winter 2017

The new issue of Knitscene is out to the world and we are loving the Hygge style projects, colourwork accessories, and gift-ready knits!

One such project we especially adore is Moira Engel’s new Rivers Cowl. Featuring our Superwash Worsted, decadent cables pop off the fabric like a marathon runner at the starting line – bright and exploding! The pattern utilizes a provisional cast-on and grafting, making it an ideal project for knitters looking to add new skills to their toolbag.

Finished Size 64” circumference and 10.5” wide.

Yarn SweetGeorgia Yarns Superwash Worsted (100% superwash merino wool): walnut, 4 skeins.

Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers; waste yarn for provisional CO; cable needle; stitch holder; tapestry needle.

Gauge 29 sts of Right Cable chart = 4.25” wide; 27 rows = 4” in patt.

Note This cowl is worked back and forth in one piece beginning with a provisional cast-on. The two short ends are grafted together in the pattern.
