The heating is not working in my studio office… it is freezing! In any case, we are going to talk about things that will keep you warm and toasty this holiday season. We are going to talk about the new Holiday Vol. 6 Collection that came out this week at SweetGeorgia!
We come out with this pattern collection every winter and it has always been meant to inspire quick and easy gifts you can make for friends, family, or a cozy little holiday project for yourself. It’s a taste of something nice, sparkly and fun during the holiday season. This year, our Design Director Tabetha Hedrick pulled together a mini palette of colours that were inspired by frosted berries. Very crisp, red berries, icy blue colours and shades of blue.
Watch today’s Taking Back Friday vlog to see all of these new garment pieces – to see how they look, drape and see the full size of these projects. We also have a promotion for 15% off any of the patterns in this collection using the coupon code: SGYHOLIDAY15 – available on both our website and Ravelry until the end of November 17.
In the vlog I also share an announcement about our upcoming studio moving day! Starting the week of November 16, please pick up your orders at our new location at: 1562 Rand Avenue, Vancouver. We are still not open to the public unfortunately, but contactless pick-ups continue to be available at our new location.
Wish us luck in the big move and we hope to show you more about the move in the coming weeks!
IN THIS EPISODE
- what I’m wearing: I’m keeping warm in my Five by Five cowl. I started knitting it up earlier this year for our Five by Five Cowl workshop on the School of SweetGeorgia. This is the one where I mixed and blended colours from my stash – a little bit of sparkly CashLuxe Spark, CashLuxe Fine and and our Silk Mist yarn. Colourways I used are: Strawberry Tea, Lichen and Chili Chocolate (now discontinued).
- what I mention in today’s video: Today I am talking about our new Holiday Vol. 6 pattern collection release, which launched earlier this week and includes two knit patterns, one crochet and one weaving pattern. We also have two new tutorials available to pair with the knit patterns in this collection. In the vlog I also show a sneak preview of another scarf I recently wove for our Handwoven Colour workshop series on the School of SweetGeorgia.
- want to learn more about weaving? We have many excellent weaving courses at the School of SweetGeorgia to help! With a number of different videos covering different weaving techniques from tapestry weaving, weaving on a rigid heddle loom, or being more confident with weaving on a multi-shaft loom. We also have a selection of weaving equipment and accessories available here on the SweetGeorgia site.
