It’s Clue Three Week and we’re officially at the midpoint of our Mystery Knit.
I hope you’ve had as much fun with the interplay of colour and lace in Clue Two as we did. One of my favourite things about this shawl is the way the sock blank moves through the other two colours. It’s like I’m knitting with a ton of colours, each transition being a lovely surprise. Not too unlike the subtle variations in the petal of our favourite dahlia.
This week we’re going to work with the now-familiar patterns, but with a slight change in direction. Let’s just say we’ll soon stop adding more stitches. Are you ready for it?
Note about Clue Two: After a couple of questions, we updated it to Version 1.01 to add extra stitch counts and asterisks (*) to the written Lace Increase section (instead of X times) for clarity. No errors for you to worry about. :)
If you need a refresher on any techniques, the School of SweetGeorgia has an impressive library of free knitting tutorials to help you out.
Be sure to comment here on the SweetGeorgia Blog with your thoughts—you can also share links to your Ravelry page there! For School Members, you can share your progress with the other students in the Autumn Dahlias MKAL Group. And for our Instagram-er friends, be sure to tag us in your shares so we can ogle your colours (#sweetgeorgiaMKAL and #sweetgeorgiayarns are great hashtags to use).
Remember to savor the stitches as much as you savor these last few weeks of August. Happy Clue Three Knitting!
Confirming that garter increase 7 and decrease 1 are indeed different colours. First bit of asymetry so far so just checking.
They are, indeed! Gotta keep you on your toes. Wink.
I’ve finished Clue 3! ❤️ I’m loving watching my sock blank go thru all it’s colors!!
