Join me for a very special unboxing! As a reward for finishing up the filming for a new circular sock machine course for the School of SweetGeorgia, I’m unboxing a brand new Daedalus Starling V3FP e-Spinner.
In this video, I’ll walk you through what’s inside the box, the assembly process, and my first impressions as I set it up for its very first spin. I found the Starling had lots of thoughtful features that make this e-Spinner a dream to use, from its super-fine tension adjustment and soft start/stop function to the handy magnetic orifice hook.

I’ll also share why the Starling model is the best fit for me, my thoughts on spinning with an e-Spinner versus a traditional treadle wheel, and how this incredible tool has arrived just in time for Tour de Fleece 2025!
Get a peek at the beautiful fibres I’m planning to spin, including some custom sock blends, a luxurious yak/silk that’s been in my stash for years, and more. What are your plans for Tour de Fleece? Let me know in the comments below!
