Call it a momentary lapse of judgement. Call it the result of my brain melting from the pandemic. Blame this on my lack of patience or hasty decision making. Whatever the reason, please file this under “things not to do, ever”.
In this week’s Taking Back Friday, I talk about my stranded colourwork project that I’ve been stuck on for the past couple of weeks and why. Since the fall, I’ve been knitting the Wild Autumn cardigan designed by Abbye Dahl and it’s a beautiful design. The colourwork is knit up in two strands of Tough Love Sock. Recently I got fed up with the many, many ends where I changed colours and decided to do something (unfortunate) about it.
I’d love to hear if you’ve ever done something disastrous to your knitting or simply made a bad decision that you regret. How did you fix it? How did you get past the mistake?

I have seen steeked edges finished with a knit seam binding finish which could work to hide your serged edges after you finish knitting the sleeves.

I’d suggest more of a flat binding than this sandwich method, but I’m sure you could figure it out.
I’ve been knitting and sewing since I was very young, so I’ve done many “quick fixes“ that were anything but!! But I’ve tried not to make the same mistake again ;)
