In this episode I talk with Anne Hanson of Knitspot. I’ve long been a fan of her blog and her prolific design career, having knit a few of her shawl patterns myself.
Anne is a life-long knitter with a background in the fashion and graphic design fields. She currently teaches and writes about knitting, spinning, and designing at her blog. Anne lives and works in Ohio with David, who loves wool, too; together they are the owners and creators of the very popular Knitspot yarn clubs and Bare Naked Wools yarn collection. Anne’s design work has been included in Brooklyn Tweed Wool People, Knitty, Interweave Knits, Twist Collective, and many many more. She has also produced several popular instructional videos with both Craftsy and Interweave Knits.
I really enjoyed having this conversation with Anne and hope you find her experience, perspectives, and insight to be as interesting as I did.

Mass Transit Cowl + Yarn Giveaway
We talked about doing a giveaway for our podcast listeners and came up with what I hope you’ll agree is a nice idea. Since Anne’s yarns are all natural colored and our yarns are hand-dyed, we thought it would be great to combine the two yarns together with a pattern that could use both together. So Anne will be providing a skein of her Confection Sport yarn which is a soft and lofty 3-ply yarn spun from Corriedale wool and SweetGeorgia will be providing a skein of our brand new Supeprwash Sport which is a 3-ply 100% merino wool yarn. These can be knit together in the Mass Transit Cowl pattern which Anne designed. The winner will receive the two skeins of yarn by mail and the pattern via Ravelry. To enter, listen to the episode to find out the secret phrase then visit the giveaway page to enter. Good luck!
Update: Giveaway is now closed.
