Inspired by cold water swimming on warm summer days, road trips, colourful travels and beach-y adventures, we’re ecstatic to share our next colourway release, Glacier! A bright and energetic pop of fun reflecting the beauty and warmth of summer days, infuse your creations with the essence of summertime bliss.
GLACIER COLOUR INSPIRATION
Glacier is a beautiful aqua tone that works as a cool, wintry colour as well as a fresh, clear colour for spring and summer. These hand-dyed hues can both lift you up and energize you as well as transport you to dream-like, relaxed state. Refreshing and vibrant, yet soothing and restful. It can calm you, and bring harmony and clarity to your mind and emotions.
Inspired by road trip daydreams, soaking in the beautiful tones of crystal-clear lakes in BC and the Rocky Mountains. It beckons us for a refreshing, cold-water dip. With the popular Alaska cruise season bustling with tourists at Vancouver ports nearby, this colourway has also whisked us away to the thought of exciting travel destinations. Interested in creating a set of complimentary colours to pair with Glacier? You can mix in splashes of coral pink and golden yellow, mirroring the hues of breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky in a mesmerizing display of colours.

GLACIER PROJECT IDEAS
Add a pop of Glacier to your outfit with either a fun knit shawl, colourful cardigan, or warm hat for evening camp-overs. This colourway feature was inspired by past pattern samples we’ve made using Glacier — all fabulous project ideas to pair along with your new “from the vault” skeins.
Rivan Shawl by Emily Wood — colour and texture zigzag through this bold shawl in a feast for the senses. The perfect fabric for colour play, Rivan promises constant interest with modular triangles and a fun, zingy edge. The sample project here uses SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock yarn, with one skein each in Glacier and Birch. We also suggest taking a look at Holli Yeoh’s Little Basic Cardi design — a wardrobe staple you’ll want to knit time and time again. It features a lovely round neck, short row and English-tailored shoulder options, and plenty of customizations to fit just about every body and sleeve length. Rivan Shawl in Birch & Glacier
Equipment
- 1 Circular Knitting Needles in size 3.5 mm / US 4
Materials
- 1 skein Tough Love Sock in Birch *see yardage notes below
- 1 skein Tough Love Sock in Glacier
Instructions
- Download a copy of the Rivan Shawl knitting pattern which is available at our online shop and on Ravelry.
- CO 3 stitches using the MC (Birch). Following the chart or written instructions, working the Beginning Triangle pattern instructions as listed in the pattern details.
- Repeat the instructions for making a triangle 9 more times until there are 10 completed triangles on the needle, having just completed the final Row 11 of the last triangle.
- Join rows being careful to avoid twisting the sections around the needles in these first few rows. Work the following rows over all 10 triangles, joining them together with WS facing.Note: Follow the guidelines for the colour change instructions in the pattern.
- Continue working the Eyelet Stripes and Garter Rib instructions for the remainder of the pattern.
- Using CC (Glacier), bind off all stitches.
- Weave in ends and block your finished shawl. Use blocking wires and pins to pin out the triangles along the bottom edge. Let dry and enjoy!
