How to Wet Finish & Block the Good Cheer Scarf
Equipment
- 1 Good Cheer Scarf
- 1 Blocking Surface
- 1 Bowl or sink to soak project
- 1 Wool detergent (like Soak)
- 1 Towel or salad spinner
- 1 Blocking pins (optional)
Instructions
- For this project, we want to smooth out the width rather than the length. Follow these steps for light blocking:Soak the scarf in water with a bit of Soak (or another gentle wool wash) for 15 minutes.
- Remove excess water using a salad spinner or by rolling the scarf in a towel.
- Lay the scarf flat on a mattress, carpet, or blocking mats.
- Smooth it out from the centre outward, working width-wise along the length of the scarf.
- If you have T-pins, use them to accent the peaks of the lace pattern at the first and last edges. If you don’t have pins, the edges will still look great.
Notes
This is a light block, so blocking wires is not necessary. Enjoy your finished Good Cheer scarf!
