When I started this podcast back in the summer, one of the first responses I got back was from Leah Churchley. She’s a knitter and participates regularly on our SweetGeorgia Ravelry group… she joins our knit alongs and posts in our forums. She comes to our studio events, and is just all around super nice and sweet. She reached out to me and with a message that sort of read, If you ever want to interview a normal boring knitter, just let me know! Well, yes, I am totally interested in connecting with knitters, even the self-proclaimed so called normal boring knitters, because I think everyone has an interesting story to tell about their craft and how it fits in with their lives.
And as Leah and I started chatting, it turns out that she is actually very passionate about something besides knitting, and that is sharing her story of anxiety and how knitting helps her manage her anxiety. In 2011, Leah was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and since that time has become an advocate for mental health. I’d like to introduce you to Leah in this episode today.
