Each month, we choose a project to highlight just one of many ideas of what to create with our Secret Stash Club yarns. This month’s project is all about texture and lace. It brought together everything we love about a great knitting project: hand-dyed hues that tell a story, a dreamy yarn base, and a pattern that looks impressive but keeps you in a relaxed groove. For our May 2026 Club sample, we paired the “Overlander” colourway with Felicia’s beautifully textured Cherry Lane Cowl. Whether you’re a longtime Club member or just discovering our Secret Stash Club for the first time, read on to learn more about the colourway inspiration and the knit pattern we chose to showcase it.

THE OVERLANDER CLUB COLOURWAY

Our “Overlander” colourway features mossy, rustic greens and browns, like you’d find if you were wandering a boreal forest. Inspired by the idea that the journey matters just as much as the destination, our hope is that you’ll enjoy every stitch along the way as you create something with this gorgeous, earthy colourway.

THE CHERRY LANE COWL PATTERN

The Cherry Lane Cowl by Felicia Lo features columns of rope-like twists that look like cables but are knit entirely with simple decreases and yarnovers. This cowl is a fun and engaging project, perfect for those special single skeins of yarn. The pattern was chose to highlight our Mohair Silk Sock yarn in an approachable lace project for advanced beginners.

This yarn base is smooth and sleek, and works up beautifully into hard-wearing socks. However, it also works well for weaving, crochet, or any project that requires beautiful stitch definition with a fabulous drape.
