Secret Stash Club Knitting: Soft Twilight

Capture every colourful moment of our August Secret Stash Club yarn “Pool Party” with the Soft Twilight shawl. Designed by Corrina Ferguson, this month’s sample knit project is a show stopper. An asymmetrical shawl featuring lace and cable details, it beautifully highlights every shift in colour of the sock blank gradient. Cast on some summer fun!

AUGUST 2026 CLUB: POOL PARTY

This month’s Club colourway is bright, vibrant, and pure fun! Inspired by the hot sun reflecting off a cool, sparkling pool, the streaky dye marks in this sock blank look like the shimmering ripples of a summer swimming pool. Hand dyeing the Pool Party colours on a single sock blank allows the maker to enjoy the vibrant gradient of hues as it transitions from one to the next. WEARABLE COLOUR FOR ANY SEASON

This lacy triangular shawl showcases the full Pool Party gradient in all its glory. Flowing from sun-drenched yellow through shimmering aqua into the deep, moody violet, we’re in love with this month’s sample. The open stitch pattern of the Soft Twilight shawl catches the light like ripples on a pool’s surface, revealing every shift in colour across the fabric.

Knit from a single sock blank, the seamless colour transition does all the heavy lifting without multiple yarn ends to weave in along the way. Whatever you choose to create, even a simple stitch pattern yields show-stopping results.

• 1 Circular Knitting Needles in size 5 US / 3.75 mm

Materials

  

• 1 blank SweetGeorgia Sock Yarn Blank in Pool Party

Instructions

 

• To knit the Soft Twilight shawl, download a copy of the pattern, available at the SweetGeorgia shop.
• Follow directions for the cast on and setup rows.
• Repeat rows 1-12 of the Body Pattern until your yarn is almost fully used up (see notes below), making sure to leave enough yarn for the bind off.
• Work the Picot Bind Off instructions.
• Weave in ends and wet block to open up the lace and bring out the picots along the endging. Let dry full and enjoy!

Notes from our sample knitter, Deborah: 

With very careful yarn monitoring, I was able to complete 18 pattern repeats plus 4 additional rows, then bind off.

Delicate slipped stitches and beginner cables meander across the fabric of this asymmetrical shawl, creating a beautiful, airy effect. The subtle shift of colours captivates our attention, reminding us of the soft hues that dance the snow at twilight.
