Say hello to our August 2026 Secret Stash Club colourway that is pure fun: Pool Party! With sun-soaked yellow fading into a bright ocean teal and twilight purple, this month’s Club yarn is pure magic on the dye table. Each colour melts into the next like a summer sunset reflected on water.
THE POOL PARTY COLOUR STORY
When I first saw this colourway, I immediately thought about giant inflatable pool floaties. This colourway is all about the hot sun reflecting off a cool, sparkling pool, with an icy beverage… while surrounded by water toys. It’s bright, unabashedly vibrant, and just fun.
Even the streaky dye marks in this sock blank look like the shimmering ripples of a swimming pool. Maybe the purple helps you imagine a sunny day transitioning into dusk and evening. There are so many ways to look at and play with this spectrum of colours while you indulge in the simple joys of summer.
WORKING WITH A SOCK BLANK
Whenever we talk about single sock blanks, we suggest knitting or crocheting directly from the sock blank, unraveling it as you go. Knitting or crocheting directly from a sock blank is crinkly, but the crinkles block out perfectly for a smooth, beautiful finish.
You can also combine the sock blank with a second skein for a larger project. One sock blank alone is enough to knit into a scarf or shawl, just like the sample we made at the Studio, Soft Twilight. Read more about this sample shawl at the project page.
For this month, since it is the month we will be starting our “Summer Spectra Knit-Along” I’d also suggest maybe knitting this sock blank along with a second skein of SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock to make the Hebe Sunset Scarf design. Or if you weave, you might use the gradient sock blank as warp or weft in a project too. We can’t wait to see what you create from this!
