Introducing our July 2026 Secret Stash Club colourway: Swiss Wish! Sometimes a colourway starts with a place you’ve never been, a dream that hasn’t quite become real yet. This month’s Club colour is dedicated to the idea of making fantasy into reality. From the space between a pixelated mountain view and the promise of actual alpine air on skin. It’s a colour that carries the feeling of anticipation, of wishes on the verge of coming true.

THE JULY CLUB COLOUR STORY
During the “lock down era”, my husband and his old high school friends individually invested in some virtual reality headsets so they could play ping pong with each other, remotely, trying to maintain friendships in interesting times. It was such a bizarre, science fiction way of trying to connect and stay in touch with others.
I played with the VR headset a bit as well and it gave me a completely different experience. I used the headset to take a virtual walking tour of the highest peaks in Switzerland, mimicking the walk from hut to hut, occasionally peering to one side to see down the mountain to look at the view. What a weird simulation of the world. Never did I imagine that I would visit these places “in the real” (aka in real life or “IRL”), but this July I’ll be in Switzerland to experience real vistas in real daylight, with real grass and rocks underfoot. I wonder how it will compare with my virtual fantasy of a Swiss hike?
This “Swiss Wish” colourway is what I imagine fresh alpine air, crisp lakes, and a cool breeze to be like in the summer. A pale, wispy veil of blue and green hues. This is how I translated my virtual reality into colour.

PROJECT IDEAS
Swiss Wish is hand-dyed on a special SweetGeorgia Merino Silk Light yarn base. It’s a gloriously glossy, lofty, and light fingering-weight yarn featuring the warm tones of tussah silk. Tussah silk is naturally a bit honey-gold in colour and blended together with a beautifully soft merino wool, this creates a yarn that takes dye well and transforms every hue into a warmer version.
This yarn feels so soft and amazing next to skin, it just yearns to be made into something like a scarf, shawl, or neckerchief—some small luxury that you could wear comfortably with an easy elegance. This month, we knit it into a simple, textured scarf—the Ginger Rib Scarf (a free download for SweetGeorgia + Co members)—and focused on trying to get a planned pooling effect with this colourway. Read more about the scarf at the project post »

My other big idea for this colourway would be weaving it “faux-Ikat” style. See our website for more details on how to use a handpainted colourway like this.
