About the Course
Taught by Amanda Wood, we’re excited to introduce you to new ways of working with a rigid heddle loom! The rigid heddle is a wonderful tool for weaving small projects like scarves and cowls, and in this course, we’ll explore two-colour interlocking projects to create two very different scarves. The course videos include further resources to take your rigid heddle weaving to the next level, including inspiration and record keeping.
Interlocking – clasping two yarns of different colours around each other and using them as one – allows us to shift colours, texture and pattern in both the warp and weft in new ways. It’s like freestyle drawing with our yarn. Interlocking in the warp allows a fluid, organic colour shift, and interlocking in the weft can create a more structured, graphic contrast and transition between two colours.
About the Kits
Interlocking loves a good contrasting palette. One skein of each colour will give us enough yarn for both projects in the course, with some leftover for sampling.
