There’s something about winter that brings us inward, urging us to curl up in our favourite crafting chair, sipping hot tea, and working with a cozy yarn. We think you’re going to want to curl up with our new sock blank colourway, Hibernate. The gradient of cool pink to dark chocolate brown is rich and colourful, promising a fibre warmth to drive all the winter blues away.
The limited-edition colourway features deep hues of orchid pink, steel purple and blue, and chocolate-y cocoa browns. Hibernate is a stunning sock blank for all of your knitting, crochet, and weaving projects.
We’ve designed the colour sections in this 425 yd / 388 m single-strand blank to be long enough for lace and texture to stand out. A single sock blank is ideal for any single-skein accessory you’ve been dreaming of, such as Cades Grove (shown in the sample photos above) or Cherry Bellini. Or, pair your sock blank with a full skein of your favorite fingering-weight yarn for a larger project like Rivan.
About Sock Blanks:
We’ve dyed these shades onto a machine-knit Stockinette stitch tube, which allows you to achieve a gradient effect in your project without having to change yarns. Simply cast on with the tail and let the colours work their magic directly from the sock blank. You might also prefer to wind or cupcake the blank to work from the other end. Whatever your starting choice, the results with Hibernate will be the same: lush, cozy, and oh-so colourful. Knitting or crocheting from a sock blank is “crinkly,” but the crinkles block out neatly. A good soak or long steam produces a smooth, beautiful finish, ensuring you have a magical colour-changing experience. We even have a video tutorial HERE to show you how easy a sock blank is to use.
