Tempest

Tempest is a collection of handknit patterns by Vancouver knitwear designer, Holli Yeoh, for the artisan hand-dyed yarn company, SweetGeorgia Yarns.

Being on the West Coast, we tend to be pre-occupied with the weather, so it’s no surprise that we were inspired by the idea of the Tempest. Rainstorms. Cloudbursts. Monsoons. Tides rise and fall. Waves ebb and flow. Storms rage and we seek refuge from the wild and fierce Tempest. These designs embody both the shelter and the storm.

In its 84 pages, you’ll find 11 beautifully crafted patterns including garments, hats, mitts, cowls, and blankets. Tempest is available here as a physical print book and e-book set (the print book will be mailed to you and the PDF e-book will be delivered to you via Ravelry). Patterns included: Seaswell, a ballet-neck cardigan; Watermark, a cowl neck tunic with lace trim; Procella, a slouchy hat and fingerless mitts set; First, Second, and Third Beach Cowls, all based on variations of a Milanese lace stitch pattern; Eventide, a chevron patterned pullover; Stormwatch, a drapey and boxy-style pullover;Breakers, a cozy and chunky cowl worked in double garter stitch; Ebb & Flow, a blanket in three sizes; and Haven, a poncho or wrap that uses double-stranded cashmere fingering weight yarn to produce an ombré effect.
