I have the keys to our NEW SweetGeorgia studio! 💗 yes, that’s right we are moving again.
I know, you might be thinking, “but you just moved to a new studio not that long ago, right?”
Yes, it seems like just yesterday we were renovating, building a brand new dye studio, and setting up our new space but big changes are happening again behind the scenes right now.
In January 2020, I signed the lease for the space at Rand Avenue, then spent months renovating, and then moved into the finished space in November 2020. We built out a full production dye studio to create all our hand-dyed yarns for SweetGeorgia and also a complete film production area to make our courses and content for the School of SweetGeorgia. We had signed a 5-year lease with an option to renew for another 5 years… so we thought we were going to be there for quite a while. But then, just over a year into being at the space, our landlord sold the building to a developer who had other plans for the building.
For the past two years, I’ve been spending all my waking hours searching for a new studio space, but I couldn’t make a move on anything because we hadn’t received notice of when the developer would begin their development process. So we just lived in limbo for the past two years… we couldn’t plan events, production for long-term projects like our Advent calendar, or even filming for future courses because we didn’t know when we would be asked to leave.
Finally, finally… we have been told that the building is going to be demolished in early 2024 and we need to leave before December 31.
And so, now I have keys in hand for a new studio space. We will be transitioning to the new physical studio space over the course of the next few months, but we will also have a number of other big changes coming for 2024. This has been and continues to be a time of quiet, introspective creativity and processing. I’m in the midst of thoughtful, intentional changes to what we do and how we do it.

The new SweetGeorgia Studio will still be in South Vancouver, just a few minutes away from our current studio, and is situated right along the Fraser River. We have a river view and much of the new space is filled with natural light. It’s the perfect cozy spot for setting up a couch for knit nights, a loom with a view, and a room full of gorgeous, precious yarns and fibres.
This new studio represents a fresh start… but a fresh start with an intention of slowing down and finding strength and peace again. I want this new studio to strengthen our souls and help us become more of what we were intended to be. This will be a place where we continue to work every day to express the skills and talents that we have been given and fulfill this mission to bring light to the world.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to work in this new space and I’m excited to see what we create here for you and this community.
Congratulations, I am so happy to hear that you have found a new place, not only to grow your business but a place of peace and serenity. From peace and serenity comes enormous joy and creativity. I hope to visit in person one day.

I’m so sorry you’ve been living in this angst of “when” Felicia but I’m so thankful you have found a place that sounds like it’s giving you a sense of calm and peace around the move. As always my thoughts and prayers are with you and the team as you transition. Xo
What a beautiful view and intentions for the new studio! Best of luck in the new space.
